Wandering Alone

As a people, as individuals
no sense of God’s presence
empty in God’s judgment
when we go astray
though God is with us
we do not feel him
when we turn from him
and his call for our lives

Wandering alone
seeking to be filled
looking for God
yet not finding him still
needing his grace
to fill our hunger
God alone able
to bring us back to him
