Christ is our savior
our compass, our guide
teaching us how to live
in the story of his life
From long before the beginning
far before his earthly birth
the scripture telling
of the word that would become flesh
In him alone,
not in the words
the rest of the telling
in him alone are we redeemed
Called to share with others
by the command of our Lord
to love God and each other
until he comes in victory
Guided by this compass
of what Jesus would do
loving our neighbor
in all we say and do.
