In Human Flesh Dying

God coming
descending from above
walking the earth
that we would know his love

In human flesh dying
the son becoming the lamb
the sacrifice for us
that we would live again

his first born son Isaac,
God providing substitute lamb;
Christ becoming the sacrificial lamb
with no substitution;
the pain of the Father on Good Friday
when his son died for us.

“Jesus wept” for his friend Lazarus,
though he knew he would rise
