Christ calling him up short
his focus on the earth
rebuking Peter in public
before the others
making sure they heard
what Christ had to say
none of us to get in the way
a stumbling block for his submission
his path on the Lord’s way
his journey too important
not wanting to stray
to follow the world’s path
away from the will of God
wanting them to be aware
submissive to God’s plan
