All that Christ spoke, his ministry
through his words, his actions
while he walked the earth,
as he hung on our cross
Words of Christ meaningless
though with power, certain
authority from on high
but lost without our action
We are the ones who choose
not to save us from our death
God has already done this
by Christ’s sacrifice on the cross
But we are the ones who choose
to turn from the world
whether to open the offering of God
whether to accept God’s free gift
