Words of the Lamb

The cry of the sacrifice
the words of the Lamb
the Son of God on the cross
ready to join the damned

God crying out to the Father
the Son, the foretold Messiah
a petition for us all
to be forgiven of our poison

The stain, the cup he drank
the bile of our witness
our rejection, rebellion
our walk in the darkness

The cry of the sacrifice
the words of the Lamb
praying God would forgive us
to heal our brokenness
