He immediately cleared the Temple

Something in the wording
in the way the Christ approached this
the misuse of the Temple
their unholiness.

Not breaking the Hosannas,
the celebrations of Sunday
his entry into the city
the beginning of the week.

Returning Monday,
but for a single purpose,
immediately clearing the Temple
casting all of them out.

Leaving immediately after
so that his worship
would not be tainted
by his anger for them.

Something in this wording
in the events unfolding
something quite holy
in the way Christ behaved.

Maybe we should be mindful
how we treat the sanctuary
the Temple, our lives
when the passions engulf us.

We should be like Jesus
keeping the holy separate
righteous in our walk
reverent in our prayer.
