the God of their past
the people lamenting
rebelling against God
despair in the present
the God of their past
the one who created
who saved them from
slavery
delivered from death
the God of their past
who lifted, who carried
with them in the desert
providing all their needs
the God of their past
with them in the present
in the future with them
a promise of God
the God of their past
their present, our future
alive with us today
just as God promised
God with us here today
the Spirit within us
life in the One who came
God’s promise fulfilled
