Prayer of Thanksgiving – Pentecost Sunday, Memorial Day, Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church, May 24, 2015

Loving Spirit –

You manifested yourself in fire and in the dove. You continue to guide our feet.

We called Your presence with us as we entered into worship. We feel You present with us as we seek to follow, as we seek to serve more fully, as we come to know the Lord.

As on the Day of Pentecost, fall down upon us Spirit, move us in this time and place to truly be God’s people.

Spirit, we thank you for the gifts you pour upon us, for the talents and our commissions. We give back but a small portion of all God has given to us.

Even more than these gifts on the altar, we pray thanksgiving this morning, asking You to use us for God’s glory, to make the way straighter for our neighbor, to shine more brightly, speaking in tongues, in actions, in all the ways You give each one of us to go and do Your work.

And we pray all of this in the name of our Risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ of Nazareth who came in the flesh and who will return one day in Glory.

Amen.
