When we were still powerless

God, at his appointed time
while we were powerless
children, in our infancy
struggling with doing right or wrong
separated from God
Sending Christ, to heal the breach
to reconcile us to God
sacrificing that we may live,
while we yet sin,
becoming the Lamb of God
