we lose our way
we forget the words
the melody becomes a memory
if the words are hurting
if our journey is struggle
easy to listen to the wind
to find ourselves sinking
under the waves
we forget our song
God’s purpose in our living
we lose our way, our hope
in struggle, in decisions
in the path we wander
when we get off the way
we forget the words
more and more each day
