Drawn to the River

All of us coming
down to be baptized
to repent of our sin
in the preaching of John
down by the waters
drawn by the river
to be washed clean

Hoping for the coming
the words of his preaching
the coming of Christ
the kingdom near
the one he prepared for
the one who was to come
the holy one of God
