Do We Hear God - 2

Whether in the water
on the banks of the Jordan
far from the waters
in our own lands
In the telling of the story
the baptism of Jesus
do we feel the power
the gravity of this moment

Do we hear God
speaking His loving word
blessing the Christ-child
and ourselves in His intoning
the promise of His saving
fulfilling all prophecy
as He was coming from the water
commissioned for His ministry
