The wheat cut down
the swords, the reaper’s cut
nailed to a cross,
a rough threshing floor
Falling to the ground
the seed buried in the earth
dark in the cave
waiting to give us new birth
In the light, up from the ground
the Christ rose in victory
a vine, growing in the ground
a harvest of souls for thee
