To Them on the Road

Appearing to these believers
appearing to them on the road
telling his whole story
the law and prophets fulfilled

Just one of the stories
the risen Christ walking with men
once more upon the earth
fulfilling the promise of God

Rising to heaven
pledging to come again
new bodies of our resurrection
when we rise with him
