in the quiet only
utter silence, stillness
in the whisper
the breath of God
speaking softly to us
not in the power
the wind, the earthquake
the fire on the mountain;
in the silence only
within our hearts
speaking a message
breathing words of love
only in the quiet
able to hear God
God breathing the Spirit
abiding within our hearts
in a parent’s voice, asking,
what is wrong my child
tell me your troubles
the weight on your heart;
listen to my whisper
the Spirit within
I am here with you
I have plans for your life
listen to my whisper
my words for your heart
not in mighty power
but in words of love
