Crossing over the causeway, looking down,
seeing the tidal motion, the turning,
the sunlit water, the in-between times,
the moving in and out.
Liquid mud flats, glowing in the sun,
just outside the channels, the waters,
the boats in the intercoastal
showing the changes for a moment in time.
A liquid slurry, drying, between the rushes,
the tidal vegetation, the birds in flight
maybe a boat at rest, at anchor,
chronically the time going by.
