Coming around the corner
a back way home
after a long day,
so ready to return.
The trees on fire, aglow,
the pines lit from behind, below,
Oranges and yellows competing
in meter and rhyme.
Light bursting forth
In planes of living space
Successive clusters of pines
drawing me ever toward home.
