My eyes pouring out,
in shock, in disbelief,
the same tears as my
Master
bitter seeds of anguish
running down my face;
I have cursed my Savior
when the time of trial
came,
I denied His holy name.
Standing hunched in the
courts
the Temple before me
the Sanhedrin, the leaders
calling His righteous words
blasphemy;
I who knew Christ so well,
who had called Him by name,
I who believed he was the
Christ
yet I denied His holy name.
My tears streaming down
bitter shards of glass
as the cock crowed thrice
the echo of my words;
I looked in the crying eyes
of Jesus
as he was held in Satan’s
grip
yet I did not run to my
Master,
instead I denied His holy name.
