Mud flats, tidal
marshes
below the
bridge, the roadway,
my path, the way
to work and home,
watching the
daily changes,
the urgent ebb
and flow.
Sometimes land,
sometimes water,
as I drive, as I
journey, as I travel,
seeing the tidal
forces, the estuary,
plants and
creatures dwelling
between water
and land.
Silt and
flooding, changing,
as I look, as I
ponder, as I sojourn,
drinking in the
vista, the primordial soup,
watching the
tidal motion,
the urgent ebb
and flow.
