Light, with a Big Bang

From nothing, light
in an instant, Light
Light, with a Big Bang
created, from nothing
spoken by the word of God
Let there be Light!

God Spoke Light - 3

God spoke Light
suddenly, Bang
the instant changed
the beginning of time
Nothingness before
nothing at all

God spoke Light
suddenly, bang
a switch turned on
beginning some how
Nothing before
from nothingness Light
spoken by God
in power and might

Was the Big Bang Spoken

Was the Light from the waters
the instant of Creation
the voice of the Creator
over the waters
Was the Big Bang spoken
was this the Word Light
did all come into place
just as they wrote

Compatible with Pangaea

The Creation story
in the Beginning
Light could be the Big Bang
coming into existence
Spoken by God

Light from the darkness
the nothingness
coming in an instant
of amazing power, flight

Compatible with Pangaea
with a single ocean, dry land
spoken into being
by the hand of God

His Spirit over the waters
the movement of the land
the waters like a flood
filling the basin for them
by the hand of God

Measuring the infinite

We want to know
when we should believe
needing to measure the infinite
to know the how of creation
we want to know
how all came to be
when we should believe

Acknowledging a Creator

The dates of the creation
whether a day or thousands
a week or by epochs
in millions of years

The important thing
acknowledging a Creator
not some random cosmic accident
created in God’s mind

Dating Creation

the world demanding numbers
trying to date creation
to bound it in our hands
the enormity of God
whether a week or millions
epoch upon epoch
the important thing
all that matters
is that there was a Creator

In the likeness, in the image

Formed from his hand
created by his word
in the likeness, in the image
in the mind’s eye of God
Fruits of the Spirit
the character of Love
the Words he taught us
sent from above
Formed by a word
spoken by God
in the likeness, the image
in the prayer of our God

In the Beginning, with God

In the Beginning with God
in God, through God
the Light, the Word
Christ there in the Beginning
before time began
the Creator, our Savior
the Spirit in the Beginning
over the waters
before there was Light

Read the Word into Creation

The Light of Christ
the living risen Savior
Read the Word into Creation
as the bible says we should
Christ was there at the beginning
through him all came to be
Life with the Father
hope for you and me

Making God Plural

The words of scripture
of the teachings about Jesus
Light entering the world
the Word come alive
Making God plural
not a lone Creator
the Son with the Father
the Spirit over the waters
all from the beginning
the triune Creator
before the beginning of time

The plural nature of God

not one being, the Father
in the words of creation
in our image created
by our nature, in our likeness
all the words of power
let there be light
spoken in the plural
to be in the likeness of God
the image of the divine
the Spirit over the waters
the Word alive with him
all coming into being
by his hand we were made
in the likeness of God
in the living Word

We created

in our image,
we created
the Spirit over the waters
Christ by God’s side
together creating
from nothing, light
separating the darkness
making dry ground bright
the animals, the plants
everything in God’s sight
offered for his glory
to his power and might

Made in God’s image
so the Word says we are
to reflect his Glory
his Light in the world
Simple servants
like the earth,
made of clay
sent to offer our witness
each and every day

A Vegan World

The idea of no meat eaters
not man, not the Robin
no struggle for survival
no predators on the earth

The words of creation
of a utopian world
fresh fruits, vegetables
enough to feed the earth

A vegan world, at peace
all very good
living in harmony
all across the earth

Before Christ breathed his last

Before Christ breathed his last
a final prayer to God
breathed into the world
falling down on us
A prayer of trust
of submission to God
having given over his body
He gave God his soul.

Christ speaks through us

Commissioned to be his voice
his hands in the world
to be the feet that carry
the message we are restored
Christ speaks through us
throughout time
sharing his message through us
God’s grace is sublime

Jesus continues to speak

In words, in actions
the fruit of our lives
our walk with him
till the end of time
Jesus continues to speak
through each one of us
his disciples, faithful
out in the world

Christ’s Very Last Words

A promise, a commission,
calling us to serve
to be his hands and feet
to go out into the world
He will be with us
because Christ promised us so
Christ’s very last words
to be with us as we go

Christ’s last word a promise

The assurance of presence
of God here with us
abiding within
until the end of all time
Christ’s last word a promise
offered to us
with us always
to the end of this age

My life, everlasting

My soul, my spirit,
my life, everlasting
trusting you completely
I surrender to you

I commit my spirit
far more than my body
the words of Christ, his prayer
as he slipped from the earth

Ultimate Trust

Christ’s words, a prayer
to be delivered now
for God to come to him
to rescue him now

Ultimate trust
at the moment of death
a prayer to be rescued
to be lifted up

into your hands

At the last, a prayer
committing himself to God
into your hands
oh Lord come
take me as I die
don’t let me fall
gather me in
come to me now

Christ’s Breath Prayer

The words of the psalm
the ancient words
the musings, the comfort
the turning to you

Christ’s breath prayer
“into your hands
I commit my spirit”,
my Father, my God

At the end of the day
before his last breath
breathing a prayer
trust to the end

rising unto Glory
his last sentence, a prayer
a promise to us
as he left the earth
ever to be with us

was he musing these words

in his innermost being
before his last, final word
not to be forsaken,
with God as his refuge
a prayer for deliverance
that God would rescue him quickly
as soon as his breath left him
as he died on the cross

God is present

We are the witnesses
making this all real
the ancient signs, the wonders
active in our lives

God is present
he is here with us
acting now, present
in our walk of life

We are the witnesses
the heralds, the authors
words of holy scripture
in our testimony now

God is present
he is here with us
answering our prayers
guiding our trembling feet

God is loving

Christ’s life shows us
the face of our Creator
our Savior, Love
come to the earth

God is loving
his grace beyond measure
showing us Love
in the face of Jesus
his love for us enough
to die in our place
taking our shame
the burden we carried
the yoke of the stain
to the cross of Calvary

God is loving,
eternal, almighty
life in our Savior
in the risen Christ

Signs about God

His life a witness
a testament of Jesus
teaching us about God
in the signs he gave us
his teachings about power,
his compassion for us
God’s presence with us
walking with us
Signs about God
his love for us

life where he would lead

life in the journey
in following Jesus
life where he would lead
in the journey of faith
love like Jesus
his commandment for us
to love our neighbors
as Christ loves us

life in his way

life in his way
in following Jesus
in reading his Word
the story of Jesus
How God loved us enough
to send us Jesus
how he lived, how he died,
how he rose from the grave
life in his way
in following Jesus
following where he would lead
doing as he did
loving our neighbor
as he loves us
giving our life in service
as did our head

life in his sandals

life in his footsteps
in the sandals of Jesus
walking as he walked
following our Master

Loving as he loves
forgiving our neighbor
seeing all humanity
as our sisters, our brothers

That we may have life in his name

That we may have life
in the name of Jesus
in the skin of our Savior
walking as he walked
That we may have life
life in abundance
that we may share God love
in the name of Jesus

That we might believe

Why these words were written down
the power of these signs
life in the life
in hearing the stories of Jesus
That we might believe
that our lives would be changed
life in the life
in the life of Jesus
