where is our work – v2

where is our work, what is our calling, our purpose
what are the fruits of our labors, our works;
do we heal, do we draw in
those who are broken
seeking healing, wholeness
a place of belonging, home,
within our arms, community

do we forgive, do we comfort
do they find welcome, hope,
within the family, the circle;
do they find a place of rest,
of wholeness, of healing
when they enter in
when they commune with us

I am listening – v3

The bold statement of Isaiah
in the courts of heaven
hearing God’s question,
musing aloud -

“Here I am, Lord,”
“I am listening.”
Let me be your servant;
let me do your bidding.

An echo of eternity
the true Servant,
not a people
but God’s own Son –

“Here I am, Lord,”
“I am listening.”
This was His Servant’s Song
from the beginning.

All of this was accomplished – v2

Finished, at the foot of the cross,
in the sacrifice, atonement
Christ’s dying for us
our sins washed away;
Grace poured out
protection of His blood
Liberty for all of us

we must be their neighbor

we must be their neighbor
their good neighbor, loving,
even the stranger, the other
offering them love, compassion
seeking to be the balm, the oil,
their comfort, their hope
the way of God, of love
their faith, their peace
in their time of struggle
hurting, broken, bleeding,
