Main Character

Oh you know the score, the script, the line,
She’s a character, main one, in her story

Punch line, timing and verve
A tale of a homicidal mood, knife
He didn’t kill her,
(After all she was telling the thread),
And we know why –
“They never kill off the main character”

Just ask Kirk, Shatner.
Always the new guy,
With no history, name in lights
Fall guy for our star,
At least in her mind…
