A fateful call
out of the blue
of your passing
without warning,
no thought of chance
a fleeting light
we are only that
cast into the dark
at the end of our days
brief candle burning bright
flicker and die
so sudden a loss
faith in the grace
your place in heaven
waiting now for us
when our time is done
