Between Repentance and Rebirth

Convicted yet hurting
aware of our guilt
the miry clay
of our existence
before our rebirth

Needing Christ beside us
to calm our trembling nerves
healing in the moment
when we truly believe

Yet needing the living waters
filling our spirits
to rise up on wings like eagles
above our troubles on this earth.

"There is a season between repentance and rebirth, between the old life and the new. There is a kind of mud season in which we have become newly honest about our faults, wounds and struggles. We are exposed and vulnerable, and not yet comfortable with a new way of living. We are unrecognizable as our old selves, but not yet fully formed as new ones."
