We have not been good stewards
failing to heed your call
to cherish the earth,
leaving a legacy, a better world
We have raped the land
denuding the forests
polluting the waters
fouling the air
We have taken for ourselves
far more than our share
taking the world’s resources
leaving scraps for the rest
