No cries of “Hosanna!”
no “Hail to the King!”
palm boughs not waving
no sound of singing
greeting the Lord.
Shouts and jeers of
“Crucify him!,” “Blasphemy!”
when God spoke the truth;
The crowds now taunting Him
when Christ carried the
cross to the Skull.
Angry and confused
the people as Christ walked
by
His struggle to carry the
cross palpable
going to be crucified
on this day that Jesus died.
