A grateful relief
is this scripture, this holy invitation
to make a joyful noise
a joyful noise to God.
How wonderful, for me,
if not for the others around me in worship
that the King of Kings calls us
to only make a joyful noise.
Freedom to praise in song
even when we could never, ever,
join the choir. How wonderful
to joyfully join those who could.
A Joyful Noise, a chorus, a
crescendo rising
in the pews of the sanctuary
in songs of praise and worship
to our Creator, our Savior, our God.
