pelted by sand - v2

Below the cliffs at Gay Head
the meeting clay
pelted by sand
buffeted by the
wind off the ocean
the lea of the hurricane
now out to sea.
 
Surveying the shoreline
after a night of disquiet
restless, hardly sleeping,
wind above us raging
freight trains rumbling
refueling, restarting,
no end in sight.
