under the cover of darkness
like a military invasion
swallowed up by the
blackness
everything outside the streetlights
a great curtain falling down.
driving more like crawling
in earthen subterranean bunkers
following the faintest of
trails
bomb burst of the lightening
illuminating the jet-black sky.
