When we are broken

When we are broken, when we are absent,
When we walk away from the body, the church,
An essential part of the body is missing, empty,
There is a hole where we are meant to be
In the body, in God’s kingdom,
In God’s plan for humanity…
 
…Because all of us have a part to play, essential,
We fit, we belong in the body, we are important,
Some of us are eyes, some of us are feet,
Some of us are visible, some of us are hidden,
But the body needs us to be present, to be complete,
To fulfill God’s plan on earth…
