The medium for growth for
bacteria, yeast, or mold
in petri dishes, growing...
Our minds the same,
fertile soil in fear, in isolation,
Fighting our demons alone,
Growing addictions, harmful thoughts,
and destructive behaviors...
We bring light, cleansing,
We bring the hope of scripture,
when we open up to others
when we expose our sin, our pain,
our solitary struggles
to God, to our brothers...
We are healed in community,
as iron sharpens iron...
We are not meant
to struggle in secret,
Our sins are common
to the human condition...
We must turn, we must trust,
in the coming together...
We are stronger in the fight
when we don't fight alone...
