A Charter, a Promise – v2

A hope written, a Charter,
a promise in these words,
of mettle, of justice,
of peace for humanity…
 
They gathered to sign,
a hope of humanity.
But the words Never Again,
are here again, right now…
 
Justice must come, Tribunals
must be empaneled against Russia
to give power to these words
inked 80 years ago…
 
Only in justice for every victim,
each war crime they have committed,
every crime against humanity
avenged somehow…
 
The rule of law, the center,
must be reinforced, shored up,
only in judgment on the aggressors
will their victims rest…

A Charter, a Promise

A hope written,
a Charter, a promise,
words of mettle,
of peace for humanity…
 
We gathered to sign,
a hope of humanity,

premeditated murder – v2 #Putin #Russia #WarCrimes

we must change more than our vocabulary,
to speak the truth of Russia’s terror, genocide,
there is nothing random, indiscriminate,
targeting civilians each time,
acts of premediated murder,
of wonton disregard for human life,
seeking to cause panic, despair,
raining hell down upon them
but never defeating their resolve…
 
Russia seeks to erase Ukraine,
to deny their existence as a people,
they long to recapture all of its empire,
even ready to slaughter her own people
to rise from the ash heap of failure,
the defeat of the former union,
prepared for a long struggle, a war
without any end in sight, never,
decades of war to come…
 
Russia is led by a madman, a tyrant,
demanding premeditated murder, war crimes,
awful double-taps against responders,
targeted crimes against innocent children,
civilians asleep in their beds, exhausted,
living in the crucible of war, of terror,
the truth of their relentless evil, genocide,
blood of the innocents poured on them,
Russia is a terrorist state…

premeditated murder

we need to change our vocabulary
