Creating memory, drawing each in,
gathering senses, colors, textures,
sparking creation, delving,
digging deeper, emoting perspective,
Art, a drink, a taste, a tease…
 
Dipping a brush in a wider palette,
different media, far more than color,
a buffet, a smorgasbord, a banquet, a feast,
visual textures, a bas-relief…
 
A splash of ceramics, a dab of sound,
transcendent photographs, glass hanging down,
shades, colors, images real, imagined,
painting in wood, in silence,
brushstrokes of emotion, of light…

gathering moments – v2

shells, sand dollars,
some whole, some broken,
bits of sand at the bottom of the jar,
something tangible, proxies for memories,
images, smells, sensations, tactile,
holding the movement of the tides,
the essence, the feeling of vacation.
 
shells, colored sea glass,
bits of driftwood, a feather,
placed carefully together, layered,
touching the wet sand, the grit, the water,
a tangible talisman, emotive, evocative,
gathering moments, seconds truly,
the essence, the days of our lives.

A mission statement – v3

We have a calling, a purpose, a mission statement,
a weight put on our hearts, to go, to be, to witness,
to offer them Jesus, to baptize, to teach,
about our risen Lord and Savior.
 
We have a hope, a promise, for all believers,
to repent of our sins, to be transformed within,
to rise from the ashes, to live in abundance,
to cleave to the Spirit, the indwelling of God.
 
We have a mission statement, the Great Commission,
the calling of our risen Lord and Savior
to share the Good News, to baptize, to teach,
to offer our faith, our hope, to a hurting world.
 
We have a calling, a purpose, a mission statement,
a cross that we carry, that we offer, that we witness,
our one hope in Christ Jesus, our Savior and brother,
to restore us to the Father, our King seated on high.
