Again, I fly above the earth – v3

Again, I fly above the earth, rising,
above my pain, above my sorrow,
free of the steps on this mortal coil…
 
I rise above them, the hills, the cabin,
I break free of the fetters, my bonds,
chains that bind us to the earth…
 
Why this torture, under the heavens,
my poor soul chained within my body,
endless, bitter suffering and pain…
 
Again, I fly above the poplars, hedgerows,
gathering seeds of my people, diaspora,
to go and grow out in the world…
 
The city glows as if on fire, burning,
the Moskals unto Moscow, plying,
to the Tsar’s evil courts…

out on the roaring sea – v3

leaving the Dnipro,
that safe harbor
out on the roaring sea,
venturing onward, forward,
for honor, for conquest
the glory of Ukraina,
the land that they love…
 
battling the sultan’s armies,
in the mighty fortress, the city,
“the Kozaks charge without a waver”,
breaking the chains, the fetters,
rising, freed, flying, sailing, driving,
below the Bosphorus, red with blood,
flying, rising, to the heights…
 
gathering onward, onto the vessels,
plying the mountain-high red waves,
sailing homeward with Hamaliya,
for the glory of conquest, treasure,
rich in the harvest, the plunder,
hiding within, behind, the billows,
heading for Zaporazhtsy, on toward home…

not submissive,
but an equal, a fire
a fellow Slav, a river
a noble brother, partner,
only together, Slavic rivers
one to another, hand in hand,
seeing each other as one people,
seeing each a brother, as family…
 
different peoples, but one people,
united, only then shall we gather
may we tarry, assemble, travel
in a group, as neighbors
only a people, kinsman,
though we are many,
together as one family,
one common blood…

The Spirit of Truth,
a spectral being, eternal,
a breath, a whisper of God,
unseen, invisible, mysterious,
because we cannot see it,
we cannot perceive spirit,
for we know Him not…
 
The Spirit of Truth,
an indictment, a rebuke,
speaking out against injustice,
words we refuse, we deny,
invisible hand of God, presence,
a mystery, a whisper, a prayer,
imparted by our Father, by God…

ancient stories, whispers,
melodies, folk songs,
from the ancient ones,
the homeless orphans,
speaking to us, crying,
over steppes beseeching,
sings for their glory,
tales of Ukraina…
 
sing the Kozak glory,
happy ancient stories,
all that has been gathered
under the watchful poplar,
sharing their wise counsel
history they offer, the Kobzars,
songs of the Hetman, the Kozaks,
all the tales of Ukraina…

I sing what thou hast whispered – v3

In the fields, in the ripe meadows,
in the courtyards, in the gates,
I will stand, I will offer,
the lessons you have taught me,
“I will sing what thou hast whispered”,
the truth of my homeland…
 
Ancient valor, freedom,
“Sons of mine, Fly to Ukraina!”
bring with you your warning,
I call from eternity, come,
oh, heal your beloved homeland…
 
I will sing, and they will be open,
wide tombs, so spacious
of those who vanquished and the fallen,
while the Dnipro is angry
and your Ukraina is weeping….
 
Ancient songs rise up, dancers ready,
from the Kobzars, the minstrels,
of the ancient days we remember,
oh yes, I will join them and
Sing what thou hast whispered…

A word of caution – v3

A song of sorrow, a warning,
a word of caution, of peril,
for all the black-haired maidens,
of her homeland, Ukraine…
 
Stay within your circle,
do not love the Moskal,
for he will stain and leave you,
in emptiness, in pain…
 
Like the woman at the well,
hiding from their gossip,
weeping in silence, burdened,
gathering water alone…
 
betrayed and abandoned,
used and forgotten, left,
the black-haired maiden fallen,
under his evil spell…
 
He denied her, and their baby,
she an orphan mother,
on the winter road, alone,
lost in her deep despair…
 
a tale of caution, a warning,
for all the black-haired maidens,
do not trust the Moskals,
with evil in their hearts…

Gone the ancient freedom,
from your hills, your woodlands,
down to the mighty Dnipro
flowing to the raging sea…
 
who will protect Ukraina,
from the Moskals, their evil,
such is the misfortune
for this lonely orphan girl…
 
the dark-haired maiden
cries among the poplars,
longing for ancient glory,
freedom they once knew…
 
the verses now bitter,
chains upon us, heavy,
the great loss of Kozak glory,
this forlorn maiden, Ukraina…

I weep so bitterly, an orphan,
estranged from my mother,
her love for me forgotten,
foundering on other shores…
 
All my people are strangers,
there is no one to talk to,
none of them know me,
I weep so bitterly…
 
Youth has escaped me, forgotten,
my lover has gone before me,
I weep so bitterly, forever,
for my loss, in my pain…

after “Perebendya” – v3

steeped in nostalgia,
ancient times of glory,
a song, a lament, rising,
for one who suffers,
my child, one too who sings,
for his country, his supper
an orphan dwelling
one with his homeland…
 
communing with nature
on the steppes with the Creator,
a foreigner, a stranger, outside,
the last Kobzar, a minstrel,
still singing for his people
bound to his homeland,
singing their folksongs,
until his days are done…
 
a herald, a sentinel, a witness,
a guardian of their country,
their songs, their history,
their ancient times of glory,
this troubadour, this Kobzar,
singing their living culture,
fabric of their nation,
his love, his sweet Ukraina…

They fight the very same Evil #Ukraine #Russia

They fight the very same Evil,
the same actors, the Tsar or the dictators,
using the same terror, the same genocide,
against the same people, Ukraine…
 
Their fight, Ukraine, our allies,
far more than pure freedom,
to defeat the curse of Russia,
to quench this stain of Evil afoot…
 
In the West, we say we remember,
we will never forget, the atrocities,
but we give a seat of power,
to those with Evil lusts…
 
We must stand with Ukraine,
even more so in this hour,
to never see Muscovy, Russia,
as anything but Evil…
 
They are not legitimate,
a failed, corrupt nation-state,
built on the fallen, the nations,
their imperial lust, upon Evil intent…

So incredibly sad that #Ukraine is fighting the same #terror and #genocide today, that caused the #Holodomor, the same #Evil of #Russia, and the world believes Russia can ever be negotiated with... Russia must be defeated.

pour out Your blessing

pull Your answer, Lord,
to my fervent prayers,
my petitions, my cries,
from the spiritual realm,
where they have been written,
impart them to me now,
in the physical realm…
 
give to me, Lord, my God,
in Your mercy, Your power,
all that I have dreamed of,
all that I have prayed for,
all You have already answered,
may they come true in my life,
today, right now…

fulfilling our purpose,
using our God-given talents,
offering ourselves,
to God’s holy calling…
 
living waters, love,
flowing within me, through me,
make me a worthy vessel, Lord,
filled so I may be poured…

empty and broken,
fragile, yet filled,
living waters of love,
a willing vessel for God…
 
filled to be poured,
humbly, to be useful,
life-giving waters,
fount of God’s love…
 
rivers in the deserts,
seeds offered, scattered,
thrown up into the wind,
to find eager hearts…
 
filled to be poured,
while I am broken
seeking ever to be a vessel,
in the hands of God…

The very same evil

The very same Evil,
the same actors,
terror, genocide,
against the same peoples…
 
Their fight, Ukraine,
much more than freedom,
to defeat the curse of Russia,
to quench this stain of Evil…
 
We may say we remember,

Mountains will move

If we would but have faith,
if we would truly believe,
if our prayers had power,
what more we would do…
 
Mountains will move,
doors will be opened,
rivers in the desert,
a way through the waters…

Why don’t we believe,
Choosing fetters on our spirits,
So much more could we accomplish
If we believe, if we trust in God…
