Because He Was Faithful

All of his ministry
his time in the land
proclaiming the word of God
bringing a message of love
reconciling us to him

Because he was faithful
the powerful trembled
needing to silence the lord
so they could hold onto
their station, authority

Lies hurled at him
false accusations
to bring a judgment on him
nothing would stick to the Christ
except when from his silence he spoke

Faithful to the father,
speaking his name out loud
Christ killed for
claiming who he was
the son of the living God
