Seated on His Throne

Oh to be like Ezekiel
to have seen the throne
the appearance of a likeness
of God as a man
but oh what a being
shimmering flames
glowing liquid metal
rainbows of living color
brighter than bright
to be in his courts
to look up at the throne
a wonder to behold
a hope for all of us
children at his feet

Ezekiel 1:25-28
“And there was a voice from the firmament that
was over their heads, when they stood, and had
let down their wings. And above the firmament
that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne,
as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the
likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance
of a man above upon it. I saw that from what appeared
to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if
full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire;
and brilliant light surrounded him. Like the appearance
of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the
radiance around him. This was the appearance of the
likeness of the glory of the LORD. When I saw it,
I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.”
