For the Price of Oil

Letting this stand
the oppression of the nations
letting the people starve
in subjugation

Standing idly by
as the people were murdered
for the price of oil
freedom repressed
the protest silenced
in the name of security

The judgment on us
for standing by silent
needing now to speak
to stand with the martyrs
