The Master Washing Their Feet

Something so wrong
I understand Peter
the master washing their feet
humbly, as a servant

Their world upside down
before the holy supper
the exodus remembered
yet turned much deeper

Christ teaching his disciples
the twelve who walked with him
teaching them true service
in washing their dirty feet

Preparing them for service
by the master’s touch
filled with his spirit
washed with his love
