Exposed tissue

Our stories, our lives
if we are authentic
if we sacrifice
not like the rich man
before Jesus

Exposed tissue
what it means to be salt
sharing our witness
to be light upon the earth

Nothing held back
no matter how painful
sharing the truth with others
that they may live

God with us
through the shadows,
the little deaths
with us always
through the trials of our lives
