Where is Christ’s Anger

Where is the indignation
the imbalance of this world
too few with too much power
the rest under their feet
Why are we complacent
complicit in this injustice
not crying out as Christ did
Where is Christ’s anger
you people of God
why aren’t we screaming
why aren’t we in the fight
seeking for them justice
a place in this world
Where is Christ’s anger
in the hearts of the people of faith
overturning the tables
the injustice of this age

speaking of the Methodist Movement as a
Resistance Movement,
something that made some people very uncomfortable,
including one long-time Methodist who probably was thinking of John Wesley’s words, “Make all you can, save all you can, give all you can.”
