no more than ending addiction – v3

Christ’s final words to them
to each and every one of us
to go and make disciples
to the ends of the earth
This is the Great Commission
to the followers of Christ
but no one can make disciples
changing another’s heart
we can offer a blessing
and pray for them and their heart
we cannot make one disciple
while we walk the earth

not even one of us, no one
no, we cannot change a stranger
a loved one, our brother
we cannot make one disciple
while we walk on earth
because God gave each of us free will
we can guide them, we can pray
but we cannot change a human heart
no more than we can end addiction
of a loved one, a neighbor
we cannot make one disciple
while we walk the earth
