Moss and lichen

Up above the tree line

Granite, quartz and mica

Cleared by the breeze

Running down the spine

Hikers trail and water

Fault-line and convenience

Guide my feet and father

Fir and scrub and balsam

Fragrant in the breeze

Draw us to the summit

Up the rocky set of stairs

Up above the tree-line

What a vista to worship

Spring, summer or autumn

One hike is but a tease
