pausing to remember – v2

pausing to reflect, to remember

to reminisce, for laughter

opening these pages

the trunks, the drawers,

the closets, the memories

looking at family pictures

reading a secret message

placed in a basket long, long ago

a bowler, another trunk of linens

even a few secret rooms

ancient books with new photos

hidden deep within their pages

treasures among the chaos

the flotsam and the jetsam

multiple generations of savers

who lived under the same roof
