how can God let this happen
like the words of the psalmist
“My God, my God,
why have you forsaken me?,
our laments the same,
“how can God let this happen;
how can a loving God
allow such evil, such pain?”
we struggle, we cry out
for answers, understanding
failing to trust, to believe
in God’s infinite goodness
