The very image of Rasputin – v2

I stopped in my tracks
knowing the face, instantly,
The customer pushing beyond me
to the coolers, the front,
the very image of Rasputin
like newsreel footage, movies,
After he was pulled from the Nevka
his cheeks bloody
His eyes like death
hair matted, wild, untamed,
disheveled like the rest...
