The very image of Rasputin – v3

I stopped in my tracks,
recognizing the face, instantly.
 
The customer pushing beyond me
to the coolers, the front,
the very image of Rasputin
in newsreel footage, movies…
 
After he was pulled from the Little Nevka,
a specter, cold but thawed to a point,
His cheeks bloody
His eyes like death.
 
Hair matted, wild, untamed,
disheveled like the rest...
