Not the nails,
the spikes,
the charges, the
flogging,
the lash, the
chains.
Because of love,
Christ chose to
become the Servant,
to drink of the
cup, to suffer,
to climb our
cross,
to die for all of
us.
By grace, we are
saved,
unmerited favor;
the Lamb gave us
life.
