We have lost a
sense of community
drowning in “Me”,
“I”, “what about me”, truly,
honoring personal
freedom
my needs only, me
too,
honoring a falsehood,
a lie,
Centering on
self, self-help...
A dog eat dog,
entitlement,
valuing
entrenched interest, whiteness,
Darwinian
politics, culture, echo chambers,
woke but not
changing, why should they,
cutting the
rights of others, their freedom,
Closing doors that
were opened...
A people divided,
not united
into separate tribes,
sniping,
alive but dead as
a nation, truly
not caring for
our neighbors
others, the
stranger, struggling
To thrive, to just
survive...
Consciously
taking away rights
denying access,
privilege, justice,
Darwinian
politics, culture
survival of the
fittest, of might,
those holding the
reins of power
All others in the
dust...
