A #Shabbat with too many missing

Dusk falling, fallen, gathering into worship,

Remembering creation, the hand of God,
But too many missing, a peace shattered,
Like the night of Kristallnacht, horror raging,
 
Too many killed, injured, too many stolen, taken,
But an enemy, terror, coming to their homeland,
A place of peace, of sanctuary, no rest for the people
A Shabbat with too many missing, shattered.
 
But a resolve palpable, even in stopping,
In pondering, remembering all that God provides,
A moment, a day, of rest from their labors,
Knowing there is so much yet to be done…
